From the Board to the Court
The liaison officer is the intermediary between the Lac des Deux-Montagnes Police Board and the Québec Court (criminal chamber and youth tribunal) as well as the Municipal Court. This unit has one officer working under the director of the Investigations Bureau. The liaison office follows up on a file once it has reached the court, carrying out the following tasks:
- attends the appearance of detainees when a release is involved
- is responsible for checking and following up on files where charges have been laid
- keeps victims informed of the status of a case
- follows up on the court’s instructions
- assists prosecutors as the trial unfolds.
