Present to ensure the safety of our community
On duty 24 hours a day, this team of police officers, under the direction of a patrol sergeant, ensures public safety by applying the Criminal Code, the Highway Safety Code, municipal by-laws, and various other laws and regulations. These officers work directly with the public in a number of ways. They:
- conduct preventive patrols in targeted areas
- respond to emergency calls
- direct traffic at special events and on road accident sites
- serve as first responders on medical emergency calls
- intervene in high-risk situations
- manage situations involving individuals with mental health issues.
